Certainly you might have heard about its famous members Othmar Schneider, Egon Zimmermann or Patrick Ortlieb. The coat-of arms with its crossed skiers circled in white-red and gold - the significant symbole of “SCA”, the Ski Club Arlberg.
But do you know what makes this club so particular?
110 years of ski tradition in the Arlberg region
Once upon a time – In winter 1900/1901 four adventurers made a trip to the Arlberg region – passioned by skiing in this uncontaminated snowy space they founded in the evening of the 3rd of January 1901 the Ski Club Arlberg at the Hospiz/Arlberg.

From now on this region joyed an upswing!
In 1905 the first ski race in Arlberg was held and the first ski school and ski course were offered here.The skiing area Arlberg can justifiably be called the the „Cradle of Alpine skiing“!

The Ski Club Arlberg counts meanwhile 7.000 members and its focus is to support profi-athlets among its own ranks and this with a great success! Within the last decade no other place in the world has produced as many Olympic medal winners as Lech.
As we all know it is not important to win ski races and not everyone can – therefore the passion and love to the sport and nature as well as teamspirit is supported and characterised by “SCA”.

The admission criteria which are going back to a 100 year old history must be fulfilled. Certain requirments are needed: If you have been a guest for more than 3 years, passioned by skiing with an advanced level as well as two guarantors within the ranks of the club – then you may soon count yourself proudly to one of the honoured members.
During the winter months on a regulary schedule local rounds of the ”SCA” take place - this could be your chance to take part in its induction cerememony.
